UDP Registration
CUFC is now registering players for UDP try-outs. Please register by completing the 2008 Fall Recreational/UDP Player Registration form and check the UDP try-out box. The fall recreational player fee of $80 must be paid to complete the registration process.

United Development Program (UDP)
The “United Development Program” is designed for all boys and girls ages U6 to U12. The program is designed to teach a well-defined set of age specific skills to all players involved, providing a transitional link between recreational soccer, and the Academy small-sided travel programs under the guidance of United’s professional training staff.
If you would like your child to receive enhanced skills training and to be involved in an educational experience that inspires players to be creative, perform with confidence, and have fun while improving at playing soccer and taking it to the next level then...

U6-U8 will play in the Recreational Program
U9-U12 may have the opportunity to play in the ADSL
What the UDP program provides:
•Directed by Joe Farrell, U8-U12 Director Player Development and Klajdi Lika, Director Recreational Player Development •Enhanced training through age-specific, progressive curriculum •Practice 2 xs per week with licensed coach •More competitive games •Constant evaluation and feedback •2 tournaments per year one Fall and one Spring •Quality practice and game fields •Optional Summer/Winter futsal training

PICTURE DAY will be held at IRONBRIDGE PARK for Chesterfield teams and at MONACAN HIGH SCHOOL for Midlothian teams. Please arrive on time (each team has a 10 minute slot) with order forms completed. Order forms will be given out by individual team coaches, and they can also be found at Happy Face’s website. Remember to be on time so your team doesn’t lose their scheduled time!

Recreational Player Training and Sun Cup Tournament
1. Recreational player training sessions will continue on Tuesdays and Thursdays. There are changes in the fields as follows:
Training on Tuesdays at Ironbridge will be on FIELD 15B. The times will be from:
-5:15 - 6:15 for ages 5-8 (NOT 4 AND YOUNGER)
-6:30 – 7:30 for ages 9-12.
Training on Thursdays at Monacan will be on:
-FIELD 3 from 5:15-6:15 for ages 5-8 (NOT 4 AND YOUNGER)
-FIELD 1A from 6:30-7:30 for ages 9-12.

2. Any teams interested in attending the FC Richmond Sun Cup Tournament need to have their COMPLETED roster to me no later than Wednesday April 30th.
Adhering to VYSA policies, all players need to provide a copy of their Birth Certificate in order to be issued a player pass.
Every player is required to have a signed medical release form that can be found at www.vysa.com under the forms link or click on the link below.
It is the responsibility of each coach to register, collect the money and pay for this tournament.

Recreational player training will not be held on Tuesday March 25th or Thursday March 27h due to spring break. Player training will resume on Tuesday April 1st at Ironbridge Park and on Thursday April 3rd at Monacan HS.

Recreational Player Training/ Uniforms
1. Recreational Player training will be every Tuesday at Ironbridge and Thursday at Monacan beginning March 11. The times will be from 5:10 - 6:15 for ages U5 to U8 and from 6:15 – 7:30 for ages U10 and up.
2. We still have uniforms in the office for parents to pick up.

Office Location
Our office is located about .5 miles past Ironbridge Park on Route 10.
Directions: Travel 1/2 mile past the entrance to Ironbridge Park, heading west on Rt. 10. The office is located within the Ironbridge Self Storage Complex. A large marquee is located roadside. There are offices sitting in front of the storage units. CUSC is the first office on the corner.

Recreational Uniforms, Coaches Equipment and Coaching Clinics
1. Recreational uniforms are in the office and ready for distribution beginning on Tuesday 26 February. We also have shorts, practice socks and other items for sale at reduced prices on a first come, first serve basis. Exact change, credit card and checks will be accepted .
2. Head coaches can pick up their equipment in the office from 25 Feb - 29 Feb.
Office hours: M-W 9-4 Thursday 9-7 Friday 9-2
Please remember that ALL head coaches and assistant coaches need to complete their Chesterfield County Background checks. We also need all head and assistant coaches to submit their signed VYSA and CUSC Coaches Codes of Conduct to the office.
3. Coaches clinincs will be held on Tuesday 4 March at Ironbridge Park from 530-700 and on Thursday 6 March at Monacan from 530-700. You do not need to attend both sessions.

Play Up Evaluation Session Cancelled and Re-scheduled
Due to the forecast of inclement weather for Wednesday 13 February we will need to re-schedule the player play up evaluation session.
1. We have re-scheduled the player play-up evaluations sessions. If you marked the application during your online registration for the Spring 2008 season to have your child play up you must attend this session.
With the field constraints in the off season this session will be held at Community High School on Wednesday 20 February 2008.
U6’s who want to play up on the U8 age group will be evaluated from 600-700PM
U8’s who want to play up on the U10 age group will be evaluated from 700-800PM
U10’s who want to play up on the U12 age group will also be evaluated from 700-800PM

Coaches Information and Uniform Distribution
1. CUSC conforms to the VYSA and
Chesterfield
County background policies for volunteers. All coaches and Assistant coaches need a background check prior to the beginning of the season. Please see link to the left. This MUST be completed prior to start of the season (15 March)
2. All coaches must sign the VYSA Coaches Code of Conduct as well as the CUSC Code of Conduct. These forms can be found on the link to the left. These forms need to be filled out and mailed, faxed or dropped off at the CUSC office. This needs to done at or by equipment pick up that starts on the 25th of Feb. We will not issue rosters until these forms are signed and returned to the office. Fax 271-7747
3. Coaches equipment will be distributed at the CUSC office from Monday 25 Feb – Friday 29 Feb.
4. Uniforms are tentatively scheduled to be distributed on Feb 25- Feb 29. During this week we will also have other uniform items (shorts, practice socks..etc) for sale on a first come first serve basis. Exact money will be required for purchases either by check, credit card or cash.

Play up Evaluation date set , Travel Opportunities, Recreational Application Deadline

Any female players born after 7/31/1995 who might be interested in playing for the U13 Girl’s Classic travel team are asked to contact Martin Dell, Director of Player Development/U13-U18 Girls. With the number of participants that we have in Spring Soccer, late registrants will potentially be wait listed. Practice and match play will begin in March.
We invite all coaches to return in the Spring. New coaching opportunities are also available. Please sign up as a volunteer online when you register your child.
If you need a uniform set, please include that in your registration, otherwise uniforms will not change for the Spring
2. F Course – March 1, 2008 – Millwood School – 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
MYSL is pleased to be able to offer an F Course featuring modules U6-U8 and U8-U10.
The class will be taught by Paul Shaw thru VYSA at the Millwood School on Saturday, March 1, 2008 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. (You must attend the entire day to receive your certificate.) Lunch will be provided.
You must pre-register in order to attend and to insure that enough materials are available for the class.
There will be classroom as well as field activities and we will be outside weather permitting at times during the class.
Please check out the class description at www.vysa.com under Coaching Education for more clarification on the specifics of the F Course.
The cost of the class is $30 per person. As long as your home club is associated with VYSA (our state organization, the cost is $30 per participant. If your home club does not participate with VYSA, the cost is $45 per participant.)
Please complete one of the forms below and return it to MYSL along with your payment of $30/$45 by February 1, 2008. Space is limited, so register today and confirm your spot. Registration forms must be accompanied by a check.

2. We are happy to announce that we have accepted the contract proposals for our pictures and trophies.
Happy Faces Children's Photography will be providing the pictures and Crown Trophy will be doing our trophies.
Happy Faces has ask that we set aside April 12th to have pictures taken for both Chesterfield and Midlothian. I will get you more information as it becomes available to me.
